Boney M

Voix principale: Liz Mitchell. Chœurs: Liz Mitchell, Marcia Barrett, Frank Farian.

A synth disco track, based on Moroccan Younes Migri’s hit « Lili Twil », « Children of Paradise » went through several try-outs, and Boney M. themselves performed several different versions on various TV shows. The first single versions (with the ad for the 5th album on the back cover) had a double chorus after the 2nd verse and then faded during the 3rd verse. The second and final mix had only one chorus after the 2nd and faded after the 3rd chorus. The second single pressings was pressed with an ad for The Magic of Boney M. – 20 Golden Hits on the back cover since it had been decided the new album needed more time to be completed.

Lead vocal: Liz Mitchell. Backing vocals: Liz Mitchell, Marcia Barrett, Frank Farian.

Ils sont là, ils sont parmi nous

They are there, they are among us

A cult series from the end of the last century, it still remains today in the collective unconscious of all generations and it is on the music from the 3rd generation group and with the voice of the actor Dominique Paturel who was  the French lining at the architect David Vincent, here are some memories.

Music, a sixth sense

Music is a sixth sense and as spoiled children that we are, we do not know how to appreciate it for its true value.

Sometimes i strum on my keyboards, i don’t write it but each of my notes, each of my chords have more impact on my soul than the most beautiful of poems. Unlike foreign languages, there is no need to learn, music is a universal language that is addressed to all sensitive souls. « do, re, mi, fa, sil, la, si, do » these are billions and billions of possible combinations. In eight notes, creation is offered to us.

Sound and light, an astral journey and we can remake the universe.

I would like to thank the Musician Friends who have followed me for years and who trust me, they will recognize each other.

A simple musical theme and everything can change.

To you my Musician Friends.

Culture & Cinema : « Like a prayer »

Culture & Cinema : « Like a prayer »

Like a Prayer is the fourth studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna, released on March 21, 1989, by Sire Records. Madonna worked with Stephen Bray, Patrick Leonard, and Prince on the album while co-writing and co-producing all the songs. Her most introspective release at the time, Like a Prayer has been described as a confessional record. Madonna described the album as a collection of songs « about my mother, my father, and bonds with my family. » The album was dedicated to Madonna’s mother, who died when she was young.

The album uses live instrumentation and incorporates elements of dance, funk, gospel, and soul into a more general pop style. Madonna drew from her Catholic upbringing, as seen on the album’s title track, which was also released as its lead single. The lyrics deal with themes from Madonna’s childhood and adolescence, such as the death of her mother in « Promise to Try », the importance of family in « Keep It Together », and her relationship with her father in « Oh Father ». Madonna also preaches female empowerment in « Express Yourself ».

Often used in my intros, i can only thank and pay tribute to this group, « Tangerine dream » as well as their publishing house, Virgin Records and thank them for their kindness and their friendship.

The music is timeless and it escapes us.

A German group (Electro rock) that i have been following since i was a kid. We find them here in two titles which for the oldest are not unknown:

  • Monolight
  • Thief (Beach theme)
