C’est l’histoire d’une amitié maudite qui naît lorsque la fuite d’un jeune adolescent face au danger croise la quête d’aventure d’un autre adolescent.

Voyageant de New York à Genève, des sommets suisses aux îles grecques reculées, Matthew McLaren est un étudiant new-yorkais insouciant en plein milieu de ses examens. Son monde bascule lorsqu’il est impliqué à tort dans le trafic de drogue d’un ami, abattu par des agents infiltrés. Effrayé et désespéré, Matthew achète un aller simple pour la Suisse et s’enfuit, devenant sans le savoir la cible d’une chasse à l’homme internationale. En route pour Genève, Matthew rencontre Maria-Helena Buffington, l’épouse aristocrate et insatisfaite d’un sénateur américain. Maria-Helena initie Matthew à la vie trépidante de la communauté internationale, et les deux entament une liaison passionnée.

Mais le passé de Matthew le rattrape : deux policiers sont à ses trousses. Après une course-poursuite effrénée dans une boîte de nuit étincelante, Matthew s’échappe à nouveau, cette fois dans la région isolée d’Appenzell, au pied des Alpes.

Là, Matthew se lie d’amitié avec Thomas Fassler, un jeune Suisse vivant avec sa famille d’agriculteurs. Pour Thomas, Matthew incarne l’aventurier mondain, un « cowboy » américain en vacances. Son innocence, son enthousiasme et son amour de la nature sont pour lui une expérience rafraîchissante. Ils partent à la recherche d’aventure, d’abord à Saint-Moritz où ils rejoignent Maria-Helena, puis dans l’île grecque de Mykonos, où ils s’épanouissent dans une vie festive et trépidante.

Alors que la police se rapproche, nous comprenons que Matthew et Thomas partagent un destin lourd de mystère et de périls. Offrant une nouvelle version du triangle amoureux classique, GEMINI, THE TWIN STARS est un récit international du passage à l’âge adulte.

Is the story of a star-crossed friendship which springs up when a young man’s flight from danger crosses another man’s quest for adventure.

Traveling from New York to Geneva, from Swiss mountain peaks to remote Greek islands, Matthew McLaren is a carefree New York college student in the midst of finals. His world changes dramatically when he is wrongly implicated in the drug dealings of a friend, who is shot down by undercover agents. Frightened and desperate, Matthew buys a one-way ticket to Switzerland and escapes, unwittingly becoming the object of an international manhunt. Enroute to Geneva, Matthew meets Maria-Helena Buffington, the aristocratic, dissatisfied wife of a U.S. Senator. Maria-Helena introduces Matthew to the fast life of the international set, and the two begin a passionate affair.

Matthew’s past catches up with him, however, in the form of two policemen hot on his trail. After a frantic chase through a glittering nightclub, Matthew escapes again. this time to the sequestered Appenzell region in the foothills of the Alps.

There, Matthew is befriended by Thomas Fassler, a young Swiss man who lives with his farm family. For Thomas, Matthew is the embodiment of the worldly adventurer, an American «cowboy» on holiday. For Matthew, Thomas’ innocence, enthusiasm and love of nature are a refreshing change. The pair set off to find adventure, first in St. Moritz where they join Maria-Helena, and later in the never-ending party life of the Greek island of Mykonos.

With the police closing in, we realize that Matthew and Thomas share a destiny that is fatefully charged with mystery and jeopardy. Offering a new twist to the classic love triangle, GEMINI, THE TWIN STARS is an international coming of age story.

Povestea unei prietenii blestemate…

Este povestea unei prietenii nefericite care începe atunci când evadarea unui adolescent din pericol se intersectează cu căutarea aventurii a unui alt adolescent.

Călătorind de la New York la Geneva, de la vârfurile elvețiene până la îndepărtatele insule grecești, Matthew McLaren este un student newyorkez fără griji aflat în mijlocul examenelor. Lumea lui este dată peste cap când este implicat pe nedrept în schema de trafic de droguri a unui prieten, fiind împușcat mortal de agenți sub acoperire. Speriat și disperat, Matthew cumpără un bilet dus spre Elveția și fuge, devenind fără să știe ținta unei vânători internaționale. În drum spre Geneva, Matthew o întâlnește pe Maria-Helena Buffington, soția aristocrată și nemulțumită a unui senator american. Maria-Helena îl introduce pe Matthew în viața agitată a comunității internaționale, iar cei doi încep o aventură pasională.

Dar trecutul îl ajunge din urmă pe Matthew: doi polițiști sunt pe urmele sale. După o urmărire frenetică printr-un club de noapte strălucitor, Matthew evadează din nou, de data aceasta în regiunea îndepărtată Appenzell, la poalele Alpilor.

Acolo, Matthew se împrietenește cu Thomas Fassler, un tânăr elvețian care locuiește cu familia sa de fermieri. Pentru Thomas, Matthew întruchipează aventurierul lumesc, un cowboy american în vacanță. Inocența, entuziasmul și dragostea sa pentru natură sunt o experiență revigorantă pentru el. Cei doi pornesc în căutarea aventurii, mai întâi la St. Moritz, unde i se alătură Mariei-Helena, și apoi pe insula grecească Mykonos, unde prosperă într-o viață festivă și agitată.

Pe măsură ce poliția se apropie, înțelegem că Matthew și Thomas au un destin plin de mister și pericole. Oferind o nouă abordare a triunghiului amoros clasic, GEMINI, THE TWIN STARS este o poveste internațională despre maturizare.
