A fost construit de firma Elberton Granite Finishing Company comandată de o persoană anonimă care s-a prezentat drept R. C. Christian (pseudonim alegoric pentru Christian Rosenkreutz sau Christian Rose-Croix).

The Georgia Guidestones, also known as the « American Stonehenge », was a granite monument erected on March 22, 1980 near Elberton, Georgia, USA, and destroyed on July 6, 2022. It was built by the firm Elberton Granite Finishing Company commissioned by an anonymous person who introduced himself as R. C. Christian (allegorical pseudonym for Christian Rosenkreutz or Christian Rose-Croix).
