Les États-Unis quittent le GIEC et le privent donc d’une ressource majeure. Donc fini la propagande à coup de dizaines de millions pour des études et modélisations truquées, imposée comme pensée unique.
Le prochain rapport prévu fin 2029 tiendra en 20 pages et il y aura enfin un vrai débat.
Par miracle, les Maldives ne seront pas englouties, les coraux ne vont pas disparaître, le septième continent de plastique sera introuvable, l’antarctique va continuer de s’étendre, le CO₂ ne sera plus l’ennemi et la végétation de la planète va encore s’accroître.
Le président américain a signé un décret ordonnant le retrait des Etats-Unis de 66 organisations internationales qui « ne servent plus les intérêts américains ». La mesure concerne notamment un traité et le comité scientifique de référence sur le climat.
Retrait du GIEC
Le décret ordonne également le retrait des Etats-Unis du comité d’experts scientifiques de l’ONU sur le climat (GIEC), qui fait référence en matière de science climatique, ainsi que d’autres organisations liées à la protection de la planète, comme l’Agence internationale pour les énergies renouvelables, l’Union pour la conservation de la nature, ou encore ONU-Eau.
En septembre, à la tribune de l’assemblée générale de l’ONU, Donald Trump avait provoqué de vives réactions en s’en prenant à la science climatique, qualifiant le réchauffement de « plus grande arnaque de notre histoire » et faisant l’éloge du charbon « propre et magnifique ».
Le décret publié mercredi ordonne d’autre part la sortie des Etats-Unis du Fonds des Nations unies pour la population. Washington avait déjà annoncé il y a plusieurs mois couper les financements à cette agence spécialisée dans la santé de la mère et de l’enfant.

Le film d’Al Gore sur le changement climatique a été salué comme révolutionnaire lors de sa sortie en fanfare mais, dans l’intervalle, la fameuse vérité s’est avérée ne pas être une vérité du tout.
Il y a quinze ans aujourd’hui, Al Gore, candidat malheureux à la présidence des États-Unis, sortait ce que l’on peut décrire comme un film d’épouvante intitulé « Une vérité qui dérange : l’urgence planétaire du réchauffement climatique et ce que nous pouvons faire pour y remédier ». Le film a connu un succès mondial et Gore a remporté un Oscar ; il a également reçu le prix Nobel de la paix.
Gore avait réussi à rendre sexy le réchauffement de la planète. Tout le monde voulait être de la partie pour montrer qu’il était respectueux de l’environnement, en particulier les célébrités. Et tous les autres durent s’inscrire à l’ordre du jour car, comme on l’entend encore si souvent aujourd’hui, « c’est la science qui le dit ».

The United States is leaving the IPCC

The United States is withdrawing from the IPCC, thus depriving it of a major resource. So, the propaganda machine, funded by tens of millions of dollars in rigged studies and models, imposed as the only acceptable viewpoint, is finished.
The next report, due at the end of 2029, will be 20 pages long and there will finally be a real debate.
Miraculously, the Maldives will not be swallowed up, the corals will not disappear, the seventh continent of plastic will not be found, Antarctica will continue to expand, CO₂ will no longer be the enemy, and the planet’s vegetation will continue to grow.
The US president has signed an executive order mandating the withdrawal of the United States from 66 international organizations that « no longer serve American interests. » The measure notably includes a treaty and the leading scientific body on climate change.
Withdrawal from the IPCC
The decree also orders the withdrawal of the United States from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is the leading authority on climate science, as well as from other organizations linked to the protection of the planet, such as the International Renewable Energy Agency, the Union for Conservation of Nature, and UN-Water.
In September, speaking at the UN General Assembly, Donald Trump provoked strong reactions by attacking climate science, calling global warming « the biggest hoax in our history » and praising coal as « clean and beautiful ».
The decree published Wednesday also orders the United States to withdraw from the United Nations Population Fund. Washington had already announced several months ago that it would cut funding to this agency specializing in maternal and child health.

Al Gore’s film about climate change was hailed as groundbreaking when it was released to much fanfare but, in the meantime, the famous truth has turned out to be no truth at all.
Fifteen years ago today, Al Gore, unsuccessful candidate for President of the United States, released what can best be described as a horror film titled « An Inconvenient Truth: The Global Emergency of Global Warming ». and what we can do about it. » The film was a worldwide hit and Gore won an Oscar; he was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Gore had managed to make global warming sexy. Everyone wanted to join in to show they were eco-friendly, especially celebrities. And all the others had to be on the agenda because, as we still hear so often today, “science says so”.
