Synopsis:

L’histoire suit le capitaine George Taylor (incarné par Charlton Heston), un astronaute qui amerrit sur une planète inconnue. Capturé par des singes évolués, il découvre que ceux-ci dominent la planète et ont réduit en esclavage les humains primitifs qui s’y trouvent. D’abord protégé par les chimpanzés progressistes Zira et Cornélius, Taylor doit ensuite s’enfuir avec eux pour échapper au docteur orang-outan Zaïus, l’hypocrite ministre des sciences. Cornélius les emmène sur le site archéologique où il travaille. Retrouvé par Zaïus, Taylor force ce dernier à admettre ce que Cornélius a mis au jour : une civilisation humaine avancée a existé avant celle des singes sur cette planète.

Synopsis:

The story follows Captain George Taylor (played by Charlton Heston), an astronaut who crash-lands on an unknown planet. Captured by advanced apes, he discovers that they dominate the planet and have enslaved the primitive humans there. Initially protected by the progressive chimpanzees Zira and Cornelius, Taylor must then escape with them to escape the orangutan Dr. Zaius, the hypocritical Minister of Science. Cornelius takes them to the archaeological site where he works. Found by Zaius, Taylor forces him to admit what Cornelius has uncovered: an advanced human civilization existed on this planet before that of apes.

Rezumat:

Povestea îl urmărește pe căpitanul George Taylor (interpretat de Charlton Heston), un astronaut care se prăbușește pe o planetă necunoscută. Capturat de maimuțe avansate, el descoperă că acestea domină planeta și i-au înrobit pe oamenii primitivi de acolo. Protejat inițial de cimpanzeii progresiști Zira și Cornelius, Taylor trebuie apoi să scape cu ei pentru a scăpa de urangutanul Dr. Zaius, ipocritul ministru al științei. Cornelius îi duce la situl arheologic unde lucrează. Găsiți de Zaius, Taylor îl obligă să recunoască ceea ce Cornelius a descoperit: o civilizație umană avansată a existat pe această planetă înainte de cea a maimuțelor.
