L’araignée-banane est une araignée très agressive et venimeuse. Son venin est non seulement mortel mais a surtout la particularité de provoquer chez l’homme une érection particulièrement forte et douloureuse. Les scientifiques espèrent pouvoir s’inspirer du fonctionnement de ce venin pour créer des médicaments luttant contre les troubles de l’érection.
Son nom ne vient pas d’un jeu de mots douteux mais du fait qu’elle se cache souvent dans les régimes de bananes.
Păianjenul banană este un păianjen foarte agresiv și otrăvitor. Veninul său nu este doar mortal, dar mai ales are particularitatea de a provoca o erecție deosebit de puternică și dureroasă la bărbați. Oamenii de știință speră să se poată inspira din funcționarea acestui venin pentru a crea medicamente care luptă împotriva disfuncției erectile.
Numele său nu provine dintr-un joc de cuvinte dubios, ci din faptul că se ascunde adesea în ciorchine de banane.
