Chaque été, des milliers d’animaux sont abandonnés sur la route des vacances.
Le chien abandonné sur une aire d’autoroute n’est pas un mythe. C’est bien pendant la période estivale que l’on compte le plus d’animaux abandonnés : 60 000 en deux mois, soit 1 000 par jour, selon la fondation 30 Millions d’amis.
En cause ? Les départs en vacances et les propriétaires de chats et de chiens qui ne savent pas quoi en faire. Mais c’est aussi la période des portées de chatons. « La plupart des abandons ont lieu l’été, mais il y en a quand même beaucoup pendant tout le reste de l’année », précise Jérôme Michalon, sociologue spécialiste des rapports humains et animaux.

Îngrijorat ? Proprietari de pisici și câini care nu știu ce să facă cu ei. Această perioadă coincide cu nașterea puiului de pisici. „Cele mai multe abandonuri au loc vara, dar sunt încă multe în restul anului”, precizează Jérôme Michalon, sociolog specializat în relații umane și animale.
