Sophie B. Hawkins

Sophie B. Hawkins (née Sophie Ballantine Hawkins le 1er novembre 1964 dans le quartier de Manhattan à New York) est une auteure-compositrice-interprète, musicienne et peintre américaine.

Sophie B. Hawkins est née et a grandi à New York. Après avoir fréquenté la Manhattan School of Music, elle commence sa carrière musicale comme percussionniste. Elle accompagne ainsi brièvement Bryan Ferry, mais comme son jeu ne convient pas au chanteur, elle est virée. Dans la foulée, elle écrit et compose chez elle la chanson « Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover. » Sophie B. Hawkins considère cet épisode comme une étape importante, puisque c’est avec cette chanson qu’elle commence sa carrière de chanteuse.

Sophie B. Hawkins (born Sophie Ballantine Hawkins on November 1, 1964 in the Manhattan borough of New York City) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and painter.

Sophie B. Hawkins was born and raised in New York City. After attending the Manhattan School of Music, she began her musical career as a percussionist. She briefly accompanied Bryan Ferry, but was fired when her playing did not suit the singer. She then wrote and composed the song « Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover » at home. Sophie B. Hawkins considers this episode to be a milestone, as it was with this song that she began her singing career.

Un amour de sorcière est une comédie romantique fantastique française, réalisée par René Manzor, sorti en 1997.

Synopsis:

Nous sommes au crépuscule de la sorcellerie. Le nombre de sorciers décline, et la question qui se pose est celle de leur descendance. Molok Edramareck (Jean Reno), le dernier sorcier mâle existant, n’a pas de successeur. De son côté Morgane (Vanessa Paradis), sorcière du Bien, l’une des quatre dernières sorcières toujours en vie et la seule pouvant encore enfanter, est mère d’un adorable bébé de onze mois : Arthur. Aussi, le prochain, à 6 h du matin, ce dernier aura un an et comme tous les bébés sorciers, il devra être parrainé. Si c’est un sorcier du Bien qui le parraine, ses pouvoirs seront mis au service du Bien. Si au contraire il est parrainé par un sorcier du Mal, c’est vers le Mal que ses pouvoirs s’orienteront. Malheureusement, il ne reste plus qu’un sorcier sur Terre, Molok, et celui-ci défend le Mal.

La seule solution pour Morgane reste de faire perdre ses pouvoirs à Arthur, afin que Molok ne veuille plus de lui et qu’il ne serve pas le Mal. Pour ce faire, elle doit sacrifier au moment fatidique – soit le à 6 h du matin – un simple mortel dont l’anniversaire coïncide avec cette date et cette heure. Trois hommes sur terre répondent à ces critères. Mais Molok, ayant envisagé que Morgane puisse recourir à cette échappatoire, les tue un à un. Par chance, la sorcière parvient à attirer dans ses filets le dernier de ceux-ci avant que Molok ne l’atteigne : un inventeur américain du nom de Michael Firth (Gil Bellows). Une fois que Michael aura été sacrifié, Arthur sera sauvé. Mais ce que Morgane n’a pas prévu, c’est de tomber amoureuse de Michael.

« Here with me »

« Here with Me » est le premier single de l’auteure-compositrice-interprète anglaise Dido. C’est le premier single qu’elle a sorti de son premier album studio de 1999, « No Angel. » La chanson a été écrite à propos de son petit-ami de l’époque, Bob Page. Le single est sorti le 17 mai 1999 aux États-Unis, mais n’est sorti au Royaume-Uni qu’en février 2001, faisant office de premier single de Dido dans son pays d’origine. Dans d’autres pays, il est sorti comme deuxième single de l’album, après « Thank You ». Peu de temps après sa sortie, « Here with Me » a été utilisée comme chanson thème de la série  de science-fiction américaine « Roswell » (1999-2002).

« Here with Me » a atteint la quatrième place du UK Singles Chart, devenant le deuxième single consécutif de Dido à se classer dans le top 5, après « Stan », une collaboration avec Eminem qui incorporait, sous forme d’échantillon, le premier couplet de « Thank You ». Le single est également devenu un hit dans le top 5 en France, en Hongrie, en Nouvelle-Zélande et au Portugal, et a atteint la 16e place du classement américain Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 en octobre 2000. En Australie, le titre a atteint la première place du ARIA Hitseekers Chart après la performance live de Dido aux ARIA Awards 2001.

« Here with Me » is the debut single of English singer-songwriter Dido. It was the first single she released from her 1999 debut studio album, No Angel. The song was written about her then-boyfriend Bob Page. The single was released on 17 May 1999 in the United States but was not released in the United Kingdom until February 2001, serving as Dido’s debut single in her home country. In other territories, it was issued as the album’s second single, following « Thank You ». Shortly after its release, « Here with Me » was used as the theme song for the American science fiction television programme Roswell (1999–2002).

« Here with Me » peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Dido’s second consecutive top-five single, following « Stan », a collaboration with Eminem that incorporated, in sample form, the first verse of « Thank You ». The single also became a top-five hit in France, Hungary, New Zealand, and Portugal, and it peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart in October 2000. In Australia, the track reached number one on the ARIA Hitseekers Chart following Dido’s live performance at the 2001 ARIA Awards.

« I’m Not Scared » est une chanson du groupe pop britannique Eighth Wonder, sortie en février 1988 chez CBS Records International comme premier single extrait de leur premier album, Fearless (1988). La chanson a connu un succès en Europe, atteignant la septième place du UK Singles Chart, la première place en Italie et le top 5 en Finlande, au Luxembourg, en Espagne, en Suisse et en Allemagne de l’Ouest.

Écrite par les Pet Shop Boys, la version originale de « I’m Not Scared » contient plusieurs mots en français. « J’ai pas peur » est l’adaptation française de « I’m Not Scared » et figure en face B des singles 45 tours et maxi 45 tours. Le maxi 45 tours « disco mix » combine les deux versions en un seul mix long. Les Pet Shop Boys ont également sorti leur propre version de la chanson, avec la voix de Neil Tennant, sur l’album Introspective.

Quand les Juifs rentreront à Sion et qu’une comète traversera le ciel et que l’empire Romain naitra alors toi et moi, nous mourrons. Du fond de la mer éternelle, il surgira, il lèvera des armées sur chaque rive dressant frère contre frère jusqu’à ce que l’homme ait disparut.

Certains érudits disent que la naissance de l’empire Romain pourrait être interprété par la création du marché commun ou la Rome moderne quant à la mer éternelle,  les théologiens l’interprètent comme étant le monde de la politique.

When the Jews return to Zion and a comet crosses the sky and the Roman Empire is born then you and I will die. From the depths of the eternal sea he will arise, he will raise armies on each shore, setting brother against brother until man has disappeared.

Some scholars say that the birth of the Roman Empire could be interpreted as the creation of the common market or modern Rome as to the eternal sea,  theologians interpret it as the world of politics.

L’expression « mouton de Panurge » désigne un suiveur : une personne qui imite sans se poser de questions, qui suit instinctivement ce que fait le plus grand nombre et se fond dans un mouvement collectif sans exercer son esprit critique ni seulement faire preuve de l’intelligence qu’on peut espérer d’un être humain.

Je cite fréquemment dans mes articles que:

  • Nous vivons une époque ou il est plus important de capturer un moment plutôt que de le vivre avec des personnes que l’on aime.
  • Nous vivons une époque ou le paraître a plus d’importance que l’être.
  • Nous vivons une époque ou l’humanité monétise sa propre extinction.

Lorsque je mets le nez de mon entourage dans son caca, je me fais systématiquement ostraciser, traité d’illuminé, de fou, de rebelle, de propagateur de peur, de fake news et me fait cataloguer de mouton noir.

Mais dans un monde ou l’on vit comme dans un asyle psychiatrique à ciel ouvert, le mouton noir aura toujours une porte de sortie.

I often say this in my articles:

  • We live in a time where capturing a moment is more important than living it with people we love.
  • We live in a time where appearance is more important than being.
  • We live in a time where humanity is monetizing its own extinction.

When i put the nose of my entourage in the poop, i am systematically ostracized, treated as enlightened, crazy, rebel, sower of fear, fake news maker and i am cataloged as a black sheep.

But in a world where we live like inside an open-air psychiatric asylum, the black sheep will always have a way out.

Monty Python est le nom d’une troupe d’humoristes britanniques rendue célèbre initialement grâce à sa première création, la série télévisée Monty Python’s Flying Circus dont la diffusion débuta à la BBC le  et qui se poursuivit durant 45 épisodes jusqu’au . Elle était composée de six membres : Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones et Terry Gilliam. Tous les membres du groupe sont anglais, sauf Terry Gilliam qui vient des États-Unis, et Terry Jones, d’origine galloise.

L’humour du groupe prend ses racines dans le burlesque absurde de l’émission d’avant-guerre ITMA (It’s that Man Again !) sur la BBC ainsi que sur les Goons (émission d’humour radiophonique de Peter Sellers et Spike Milligan).

The band’s humor is rooted in the absurd slapstick of the pre-war BBC show ITMA (It’s that Man Again!) as well as The Goons (radio comedy show by Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan) .

Gotan Project est un groupe d’electrotango franco-suisse-argentin.

Ce titre: Epoca » a servi de fond sonore à la publicité Finish cuantum.

Gotan Project est formé en 1999 et se compose de l’Argentin Eduardo Makaroff, du Suisse Christoph H. Müller (ancien membre du groupe Touch El Arab) et du Français Philippe Cohen Solal (Boys from Brazil). Leur nom fait référence au Café Concert Gotan, qui a été construit en 1964 à Buenos Aires par Juan Carlos Cedrón, et qui est basé sur l’équivalent en castillan argentin du verlan, le vesre, qui transforme tango en gotan.
