Nazareth est un groupe de hard rock écossais formé à Dunfermline en 1968 qui a connu plusieurs succès au Royaume-Uni, ainsi que dans plusieurs autres pays d’Europe occidentale au début des années 1970. Ils ont établi une audience internationale avec leur album de 1975 Hair of the Dog, qui présentait leurs tubes « Hair of the Dog » et une reprise de la ballade « Love Hurts ». Le groupe continue d’enregistrer et de tourner.

Scorpions est un groupe de heavy metal allemand formé en 1965 à Hanovre par Rudolf Schenker. Depuis la création du groupe, son style musical a varié du hard rock, du heavy metal et du glam metal. La formation de 1979 à 1992 était l’incarnation la plus réussie du groupe et comprenait Klaus Meine (chant), Rudolf Schenker (guitare rythmique), Matthias Jabs (guitare principale), Francis Buchholz (basse) et Herman Rarebell (batterie). Karen Cheryl a commencé sa carrière de chanteuse dans les années 1970 et 1980. Son premier single « Garde-moi avec toi » est sorti en 1975 et son dernier « L’Amour Fou » est sorti en 1991. Ses premiers enregistrements sont sortis sous le nom de Carene Cheryl. En 1977, elle a déclaré dans l’émission télévisée Le monde de l’accordéon que Carene et Cheryl étaient ses deuxième et troisième noms. Elle expliqua plus tard lors d’un entretien avec Philippe Bouvard qu’il s’agissait en fait d’un pseudonyme.

Karen Cheryl déclare avoir vendu plus de 10 millions de disques. Il a été déclaré le 3 novembre 2010 qu’elle avait vendu plus de 25 millions de disques. Cependant, les différentes sources restent encore incertaines concernant les ventes totales. D’après le livre du Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique, ses singles «Sing to Me Mama», «Show Me You’re Man Enough», «La Marche des Machos», «Si», «Les Nouveaux Romantiques» et « Oh Chéri Chéri » se sont vendus à plus de 350 000 exemplaires. Selon Infodisc, Karen Cheryl aurait vendu plus de 5 millions de disques en France au cours de sa carrière. Elle est classée 110 ème des meilleures ventes de disques en France devant Vanessa Paradis, Whitney Houston, Nicoletta, The Black Eyed Peas et Kylie Minogue.
