« The voyager »

Alphaville est un groupe new wave allemand, originaire de Münster. Il commence sa carrière au début des années 1980. Le groupe était composé à l’origine de Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd et Frank Mertens.

Le nom du groupe est choisi en référence au film Alphaville, une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution de Jean-Luc Godard sorti en 1965.

Depuis 2003, Marian Gold est désormais le seul membre d’origine d’Alphaville restant, même si depuis le départ de Frank Mertens, Ricky Echolette puis Bernhard Lloyd, il s’est associé avec d’autres musiciens tels que Rainer Bloss et Martin Lister pour continuer l’aventure.

Alphaville este o trupă germană new wave din Münster. Și-a început cariera la începutul anilor 1980. Trupa a fost formată inițial din Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd și Frank Mertens.

Numele grupului este ales cu referire la filmul Alphaville, o aventură ciudată a lui Lemmy Caution de Jean-Luc Godard lansat în 1965.

Din 2003, Marian Gold este acum singurul membru original rămas al Alphaville, deși de la plecarea lui Frank Mertens, Ricky Echolette și apoi Bernhard Lloyd a făcut echipă cu alți muzicieni precum Rainer Bloss și Martin Lister pentru a continua aventura.

« The voyager »

Alphaville is a German new wave band from Münster. He began his career in the early 1980s. The band originally consisted of Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens.

The name of the group is chosen in reference to the film Alphaville, a strange adventure of Lemmy Caution by Jean-Luc Godard released in 1965.

Since 2003, Marian Gold has now been the only remaining original member of Alphaville, although since the departure of Frank Mertens, Ricky Echolette and then Bernhard Lloyd he has teamed up with other musicians such as Rainer Bloss and Martin Lister to continue the adventure.

Ocean est le sixième album studio du groupe de rock progressif allemand, Eloy. Il sortit à la fin de l’automne 1977 sur le label EMI-Harvest Records. Il est à ce jour encore, l’album du groupe qui eut le plus de succès.

Le dessin de la pochette est une œuvre du peintre polonais Wojtek Siudmak. Klaus Peter Matziol et Jürgen Rosenthal avaient découvert cette peinture dans un livre d’art sur la peinture et, trouvant qu’elle collait bien avec l’atmosphère de l’album, la proposèrent comme couverture de la pochette. Deux autres albums d’Eloy, The Ocean 2: The Answer et Timeless Passages auront aussi une œuvre de Siudmak comme couverture de pochette.

Imaginea zilei: Crearea lui Poseidon

Ocean este al șaselea album de studio al trupei germane de rock progresiv, Eloy. A fost lansat la sfârșitul toamnei anului 1977 la EMI-Harvest Records. Până în prezent, este încă cel mai de succes album al grupului.

Coperta este o lucrare a pictorului polonez Wojtek Siudmak. Klaus Peter Matziol și Jürgen Rosenthal au descoperit acest tablou într-o carte de artă despre pictură și, constatând că se potrivește bine cu atmosfera albumului, l-au oferit drept coperta mânecii. Alte două albume Eloy, The Ocean 2: The Answer și Timeless Passages vor avea, de asemenea, lucrări de artă de Siudmak ca coperta lor.

Image of the Day: The Poseidon’s creation

Ocean is the sixth studio album by German progressive rock band, Eloy. It was released in late fall 1977 on EMI-Harvest Records. To this day, it is still the group’s most successful album.

The cover art is a work of Polish painter Wojtek Siudmak. Klaus Peter Matziol and Jürgen Rosenthal had discovered this painting in an art book on painting and, finding that it fit well with the atmosphere of the album, offered it as the cover of the sleeve. Two other Eloy albums, The Ocean 2: The Answer and Timeless Passages will also have artwork by Siudmak as their sleeve cover.

« Hello (Turn Your Radio On) » est une chanson du duo pop britannique Shakespears Sister, et est sorti comme le quatrième single de leur deuxième album Hormonally Yours. Le single a culminé à la 14e place et a passé 6 semaines sur le tableau des singles britanniques. À l’international, le single a atteint la 27e place en Irlande, la 12e en Allemagne, la 9e en Suisse, la 33e aux Pays-Bas, la 20e en Suède, la 97e en Australie et la 43e en Nouvelle-Zélande.

Le single est sorti au Royaume-Uni le 26 octobre 1992. La version album de la chanson a été remixée pour sa sortie single, avec plus de basse et l’ajout de batterie. La version single est également légèrement allongée, avec une répétition du refrain vers la fin de la chanson. L’œuvre à une seule manche a été créée par Laurence Dunmore, avec des photographies de Derek Ridgers.

Single-ul a fost lansat în Marea Britanie pe 26 octombrie 1992. Versiunea albumului piesei a fost remixată pentru lansarea sa single, cu mai mult bas și adăugarea de tobe.
