Le Professionnel est un film d’action français réalisé par Georges Lautner, sorti en 1981.

Synopsis:

Agent des services secrets français, Josselin Beaumont, dit Joss, est envoyé au Malagawi (pays fictif, figurant les anciennes colonies françaises en Afrique à l’aube des années 1980), pour y abattre le président à vie du pays, le colonel N’Jala, dictateur et ennemi des intérêts français. Mais, la situation politique ayant changé, les services secrets français n’ont plus intérêt à faire abattre N’Jala et, plutôt que de simplement rappeler Beaumont, le dénoncent au président N’Jala, sur ordre de l’Élysée. Au terme d’un procès expéditif où il est drogué pour passer aux aveux, Joss est condamné aux travaux forcés. Au bout de deux ans d’esclavage, sévices, souffrances et tortures multiples, il s’évade et rejoint Paris avec une seule idée en tête, se venger de ses supérieurs en accomplissant sa mission initiale : abattre N’Jala, en profitant d’un voyage diplomatique de celui-ci en France.

The Professional is a 1981 French action film directed by Georges Lautner.

Synopsis:

French secret service agent Josselin Beaumont, known as Joss, is sent to Malagawi (a fictional country representing the former French colonies in Africa at the dawn of the 1980s) to kill the country’s president for life, Colonel N’Jala, a dictator and enemy of French interests. But, the political situation having changed, the French secret services no longer have an interest in killing N’Jala and, rather than simply recalling Beaumont, denounce him to President N’Jala, on the orders of the Élysée. At the end of a summary trial where he is drugged to confess, Joss is sentenced to forced labor. After two years of slavery, abuse, suffering and multiple tortures, he escapes and returns to Paris with only one idea in mind: to take revenge on his superiors by accomplishing his initial mission: to kill N’Jala, taking advantage of a diplomatic trip by the latter to France.

Récré A2, le club Dorothée et les Ewoks

Le monde magique de mon enfance à travers la petite lucarne, la télévision avec les aventures imaginaires que je créais avec mes amis alors que nous n’avions que 3 ou 4 chaînes de télévision, c’est une page décisive de notre société qui c’était tournée. Club Dorothée,  Le monde à tellement changé et en si peu de temps.

Souvenirs d’enfance:

Avant Dorothée, il y avait Zorro, Thierry la fronde et seulement 2 chaînes de télévision pour nous laver les méninges. C’était le temps de la guerre des boutons, le monde merveilleux des cabanes, celui de l’aventure et de l’insouciance.

Je ne vais ni jouer les nostalgiques ni les rabat-joie en prétendant que tout était mieux “de mon temps” mais il faut reconnaître qu’en 40 ans le monde c’est complètement métamorphosé. Est-ce pour le mieux ou pour le pire ? Qui sait. J’ai ma petite idée mais là n’est pas le sujet de ce billet.

Ce préambule pour rappeler un thème, une très belle chanson interprétée par l’inoubliable Dorothée que je n’appréciais pas forcément en tant qu’enfant mais pour qui aujourd’hui, avec du recul, je ne peux que saluer l’énergie, la vitalité et l’inventivité dont elle faisait preuve à l’époque.

Elle marquera l’histoire de la télévision française comme bien peu de gens ont su le faire.

Recreation France 2 Channel, the Dorothée club and the Ewoks

The magical world of my childhood seen through the small window, the television with the imaginary adventures that I created with my friends when we only had 3 or 4 television channels, it was a decisive page in our society that had turned. Club Dorothée, The world has changed so much and in such a short time.

Childhood memories:

Before Dorothée, there was Zorro, Thierry la fronde and only 2 television channels to wash our brains. It was the time of the war of the buttons, the wonderful world of cabins, that of adventure and carefreeness.

I am not going to play the nostalgic or the killjoy by claiming that everything was better “in my time” but it must be recognized that in 40 years, the world has completely transformed. Is it for the better or for the worse? Who knows. I have my own idea but that is not the subject of this post.

This preamble is to recall a theme, a very beautiful song performed by the unforgettable Dorothée whom I did not necessarily appreciate as a child but for whom today, with hindsight, I can only salute the energy, vitality and inventiveness that she demonstrated at the time.

She will mark the history of French television like very few people have been able to do.

Sleeping Satellite est une chanson pop interprétée par la chanteuse britannique Tasmin Archer. Il s’agit de son premier single, sorti le 31 août 1992, et son plus grand succès. Il est extrait de l’album Great Expectations.

En 1993, Tasmin Archer remporte le BRIT Award de la révélation britannique.

La chanson a été reprise par Kim Wilde en 2011 sur son album Snapshots.

“Hybrids”
Le court-métrage hallucinant où les poissons ont fusionné avec les déchets

Réalisé comme projet de fin d’études du MOPA, Hybrids est un court-métrage fascinant par la qualité de sa réalisation et le sujet qu’il aborde avec créativité : un océan si pollué que les poissons sont devenus des déchets.

Plus qu’une réalité, la pollution des océans est devenue un terrible fléau pour la faune animale qui voit des espèces disparaître au fil des années. À titre d’information, plus de 634 000 kilos de déchets sont déversés chaque seconde dans les océans, soit 20 milliards de tonnes de déchets par an !

De nombreux courts-métrages ont été réalisés pour nous ouvrir les yeux sur ce terrible phénomène, mais celui que nous allons vous présenter aujourd’hui est une véritable œuvre d’art en la matière. Réalisé par six étudiants (Florian Brauch, Matthieu Pujol, Kim Tailhades, Yohan Thireau, Romain Thirion et Vincent Govindin) de l’école MoPA en guise de projet de fin d’études, ce superbe court-métrage baptisé Hybrids dépeint un monde où les animaux ont dû s’adapter à la pollution pour pouvoir survivre.

Produced as a MOPA graduation project, Hybrids is a fascinating short film for the quality of its production and the subject it tackles with creativity : an ocean so polluted that fish have become garbage.

More than a reality, the pollution of the oceans has become a terrible scourge for animal fauna, which has seen species disappear over the years. For your information, more than 634,000 kilos of waste are dumped into the oceans every second, or 20 billion tonnes of waste per year !

« Here with Me » est le premier single de l’auteure-compositrice-interprète anglaise Dido. C’est le premier single qu’elle a sorti de son premier album studio de 1999, « No Angel. » La chanson a été écrite à propos de son petit-ami de l’époque, Bob Page. Le single est sorti le 17 mai 1999 aux États-Unis, mais n’est sorti au Royaume-Uni qu’en février 2001, faisant office de premier single de Dido dans son pays d’origine. Dans d’autres pays, il est sorti comme deuxième single de l’album, après « Thank You ». Peu de temps après sa sortie, « Here with Me » a été utilisée comme chanson thème de la série  de science-fiction américaine « Roswell » (1999-2002).

« Here with Me » a atteint la quatrième place du UK Singles Chart, devenant le deuxième single consécutif de Dido à se classer dans le top 5, après « Stan », une collaboration avec Eminem qui incorporait, sous forme d’échantillon, le premier couplet de « Thank You ». Le single est également devenu un hit dans le top 5 en France, en Hongrie, en Nouvelle-Zélande et au Portugal, et a atteint la 16e place du classement américain Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 en octobre 2000. En Australie, le titre a atteint la première place du ARIA Hitseekers Chart après la performance live de Dido aux ARIA Awards 2001.

« Here with me »

« Here with Me » is the debut single of English singer-songwriter Dido. It was the first single she released from her 1999 debut studio album, No Angel. The song was written about her then-boyfriend Bob Page. The single was released on 17 May 1999 in the United States but was not released in the United Kingdom until February 2001, serving as Dido’s debut single in her home country. In other territories, it was issued as the album’s second single, following « Thank You ». Shortly after its release, « Here with Me » was used as the theme song for the American science fiction television programme Roswell (1999–2002).

« Here with Me » peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Dido’s second consecutive top-five single, following « Stan », a collaboration with Eminem that incorporated, in sample form, the first verse of « Thank You ». The single also became a top-five hit in France, Hungary, New Zealand, and Portugal, and it peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart in October 2000. « Popcorn » (première version « Pop Corn« ) est un instrumental composé par Gershon Kingsley en 1969 pour l’album Music to Moog By sur le label Audio Fidelity Records. Le synthétiseur instrumental Moog est devenu un succès mondial, d’abord en 1972 lorsqu’une version de Hot Butter est sortie. Depuis lors, plusieurs versions  ont été produites et publiées, notamment celles de Vyacheslav Mescherin, Anarchic System, Popcorn Makers, les Boomtang Boys, M & H Band, Crazy Frog et The Muppets.
