Arena est un album live du groupe de new wave anglais Duran Duran. Il est sorti le 12 novembre 1984 chez Parlophone. En 2004, l’album est réédité sur CD sous forme remasterisée avec deux titres bonus.

Duran Duran  est un groupe new wave britannique, originaire de Birmingham. Il fait partie un temps de la vague Nouveaux Romantiques associée à la new wave des années 1980. Le groupe est formé en 1978 par Nick Rhodes (claviers) et John Taylor (basse). Ils sont ensuite rejoints par Roger Taylor (batterie), Andy Taylor (guitare) et Simon Le Bon (chant). Les trois Taylor du groupe n’ont aucun lien de parenté.

« Hello (Turn Your Radio On) » est une chanson du duo pop britannique Shakespears Sister, et est sorti comme le quatrième single de leur deuxième album Hormonally Yours. Le single a culminé à la 14e place et a passé 6 semaines sur le tableau des singles britanniques. À l’international, le single a atteint la 27e place en Irlande, la 12e en Allemagne, la 9e en Suisse, la 33e aux Pays-Bas, la 20e en Suède, la 97e en Australie et la 43e en Nouvelle-Zélande.

Le single est sorti au Royaume-Uni le 26 octobre 1992. La version album de la chanson a été remixée pour sa sortie single, avec plus de basse et l’ajout de batterie. La version single est également légèrement allongée, avec une répétition du refrain vers la fin de la chanson. L’œuvre à une seule manche a été créée par Laurence Dunmore, avec des photographies de Derek Ridgers.

Christopher Isaak, dit Chris Isaak, est un chanteur, guitariste, auteur-compositeur-interprète et acteur américain, né le  à Stockton (Californie).

Isaak fonde son groupe en 1981 avec James Calvin Wilsey (guitare), Kenney Dale Johnson (batterie) et Rowland Salley (en) (basse). Chris Isaak a signé un contrat avec la Warner Bros. Records en 1984 pour son premier album Silvertone. Ce contrat a été renouvelé en 1988 quand Warner l’a transféré sur leur label Reprise Records.

Ses titres les plus connus en France sont : Blue Hotel et Wicked Game. Ce dernier titre, issu de l’album Heart Shaped World sorti en 1989, est un succès planétaire en 1991 et relance la carrière de Chris Isaak1. En 1989, Heart Shaped World est un échec (comme les deux premiers albums), mais une version instrumentale de Wicked Game est créée pour le film Sailor et Lula de David Lynch, qui est un fan du chanteur1. Après avoir vu le film plusieurs fois en ayant apprécié ce morceau instrumental, l’animateur d’une station radio d’Atlanta est le premier à diffuser la version complète ; quatre mois plus tard, le titre est diffusé sur les principales radios et se place parmi les dix meilleures ventes américaines1. Le clip de cette chanson a été réalisé par Herb Ritts et a connu un grand succès sur MTV et VH1. Réalisé entièrement en noir et blanc, il fait intervenir Chris Isaak et le top model Helena Christensen s’enlaçant sur une plage et se murmurant mutuellement à l’oreille.

Christopher Isaak, known as Chris Isaak, is an American singer, guitarist, singer-songwriter and actor, born June 26, 1956 in Stockton, California.

Isaak founded his band in 1981 with James Calvin Wilsey (guitar), Kenney Dale Johnson (drums) and Rowland Salley (bass). Chris Isaak signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records in 1984 for his debut album Silvertone. This contract was renewed in 1988 when Warner moved him to their label Reprise Records.

Its best-known titles in France are: Blue Hotel and Wicked Game. This last title, from the album Heart Shaped World released in 1989, was a global success in 1991 and relaunched the career of Chris Isaak1. Christian Langlade, futur Saint-Preux, naît le  dans le 11e arrondissement de Paris.
Il se fait connaître à l’âge de 19 ans par sa participation au Festival de Sopot de 1969 où il dirige un orchestre symphonique dans l’interprétation de sa composition La Valse de l’enfance.

Dans le même temps, deux de ses compositions connaissent un grand succès auprès du public : Concerto pour une voix, interprété par Danielle Licari, et Le Piano sous la mer.

S’il utilise sa voix ou chante quelquefois dans les premiers albums, cela cesse après l’album Samara en 1976.

Pour l’Unicef, il crée en 1986 Les Cris de la Liberté, un hymne pour les droits de l’Homme et de l’Enfant.

Frayeur (Paura nella città dei morti viventi) est un film d’épouvante fantastique italien réalisé par Lucio Fulci et sorti en 1980. Il s’agit du premier volet de la trilogie de la mort, complétée l’année suivante par L’Au-delà et La Maison près du cimetière.

Résumé:

Le suicide par pendaison d’un prêtre ouvre une porte de l’enfer qui libère des morts-vivants. Une médium et un journaliste font équipe pour la refermer avant la Toussaint.

City of the leaving dead (Paura nella città dei morti vivei) este un film horror italian, fantasy, regizat de Lucio Fulci și lansat în 1980. Este prima parte a trilogiei Death, finalizată anul următor de The Au- beyond și The House near the cimitir.

Rezumat:

Sinuciderea prin spânzurarea unui preot deschide o poartă către iad care eliberează strigoii. Un mediu și un jurnalist fac echipă pentru a închide această ușă înainte de Ziua Tuturor Sfinților.

City of the leaving dead

City of the leaving dead (Paura nella città dei morti vivei) is an Italian fantasy horror film directed by Lucio Fulci and released in 1980. It is the first part of the Death trilogy, completed the following year by The Au- beyond and The House near the cemetery.

Summary:

Suicide by hanging of a priest opens a gate to hell that releases the undead. A medium and a journalist team up to close it before All Saints’ Day.
