Kano qui fut fondé en Italie et qui était formé par des producteurs et musiciens italiens tout en faisant partie de la vague Italo Disco se fait connaître en Europe dès 1983 avec ce titre mythique : « Another life ». Entre la disco et le son des synthétiseurs, le titre instrumental « Ikeya Seki » devait faire vibrer la génération branchée de l’époque et propulser le groupe vers des sommets bien éphémères puisqu’il fut dissout la même année. C’est trois ans auparavant que Kano c’était fait remarqué aux États-Unis avec plus de 600’000 disques vendus sur 3 albums réalisés.

Kano, which was founded in Italy and was formed by Italian producers and musicians while being part of the Italo Disco wave, became known in Europe in 1983 with this legendary title: « Another life ». Between disco and the sound of synthesizers, the instrumental title « Ikeya Seki » was to thrill the trendy generation of the time and propel the group to very ephemeral heights since it was dissolved the same year. It was three years earlier that Kano had made a name for itself in the United States with more than 600,000 records sold on 3 albums produced.

Alphaville is a German new wave band from Münster. They began their career in the early 1980s. The band originally consisted of Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd, and Frank Mertens.
It was the song « Big in Japan » released in 1984 and part of the album « Forever Young » that propelled the group to the top of the international charts.
The band’s name was chosen in reference to the film Alphaville, a strange adventure of Lemmy Caution by Jean-Luc Godard, released in 1965.

Numele trupei a fost ales în referire la filmul Alphaville, o aventură ciudată a lui Lemmy Caution de Jean-Luc Godard, lansat în 1965.

Jean-Marc Cerone est le fils d’immigrés italiens, ayant échappé au fascisme. À cinq ans, il est marqué par la séparation de ses parents. Ses frères et lui sont mis en pension.
Pour ses douze ans, sa mère, Liliane Cerrone, lui offre sa première batterie pour le canaliser, lui qui se faisait renvoyer du collège. Il devient batteur et est influencé par le rhythm and blues d’Otis Redding. Durant son adolescence, des groupes ou musiciens comme Chicago, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Santana influencent Cerrone. Dès 14 ans, il fonde son premier groupe et quitte l’école. Sur l’insistance de son père, il entame malgré tout des études de « coiffure pour le cinéma » dont il réussit à obtenir un diplôme avec mention.
C’est entre autres artistes à Cerone et son influence artistique que les années 80 sont et demeureront une décennie emblématique dans les domaines de la créativité et de l’évolution musicale toutes catégories et styles confondus.

« The portrait of a modern man »
Jean-Marc Cerone is the son of Italian immigrants who escaped fascism. At the age of five, he was affected by his parents’ separation. He and his brothers were sent to boarding school.
For his twelve years, his mother, Liliane Cerrone, offers him his first battery to channel him, he who was expelled from college. He became a drummer and was influenced by Otis Redding’s rhythm and blues. During his adolescence, groups or musicians like Chicago, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Santana influenced Cerrone. From the age of 14, he founded his first group and left school. At the insistence of his father, he nevertheless began studying « hairdressing for the cinema » from which he managed to obtain a diploma with honors.

La cea de-a douăsprezecea aniversare, mama lui, Liliane Cerrone, i-a oferit primul său kit de tobe pentru a-l canaliza, în timp ce în același timp era exmatriculat din facultate. A devenit baterist și a fost influențat de rhythm and blues-ul lui Otis Redding. În timpul adolescenței, grupuri sau muzicieni precum Chicago, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Santana l-au influențat pe Cerrone. De la 14 ani și-a fondat primul grup și a părăsit școala. La insistențele tatălui său, însă, a început să studieze „coafura pentru cinema” de la care a reușit să obțină o diplomă cu distincție.
Printre alți artiști, Cerone și influența sa artistică este că anii 80 sunt și vor rămâne un deceniu emblematic de creativitate și evoluție muzicală în toate categoriile și stilurile.
