Sophie B. Hawkins (née Sophie Ballantine Hawkins le 1er novembre 1964 dans le quartier de Manhattan à New York) est une auteure-compositrice-interprète, musicienne et peintre américaine.
Sophie B. Hawkins est née et a grandi à New York. Après avoir fréquenté la Manhattan School of Music, elle commence sa carrière musicale comme percussionniste. Elle accompagne ainsi brièvement Bryan Ferry, mais comme son jeu ne convient pas au chanteur, elle est virée. Dans la foulée, elle écrit et compose chez elle la chanson « Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover. » Sophie B. Hawkins considère cet épisode comme une étape importante, puisque c’est avec cette chanson qu’elle commence sa carrière de chanteuse.

En Europe, notamment en Allemagne et en Pologne, les garçons se déguisent en évêques pour demander l’aumône aux pauvres, tandis qu’en Ukraine, les enfants s’attendent à ce que Saint Nicolas place un cadeau sous leur oreiller s’ils ont été sages tout au long de l’année.
Les enfants qui se comportent mal sont punis en plaçant une brindille ou un morceau de charbon sous leur oreiller. La tradition varie selon les pays. Aux Pays-Bas, les enfants hollandais placent un sabot rempli de foin et une carotte pour le cheval de Saint-Nicolas.
Mais des histoires sombres et des menaces pèsent sur ce personnage populaire. Selon une chanson traditionnelle française pour enfants du XVIIe siècle, trois enfants sont tués et découpés par un boucher dans sa boutique et enfermés dans un grand saloir, avec des connotations de cannibalisme.
Saint Nicolas les a ressuscités et les a rendus à leurs familles, d’où sa réputation de protecteur des enfants.
Le culte du diable et de saint Nicolas est plus clairement défini dans le folklore germanique. En Autriche, en Bavière et au Tyrol, le saint est accompagné de Krampus, un personnage démoniaque. Krampus punit les enfants en les emmenant dans son repaire.

Saint Nicholas resurrected them and returned them to their families, hence his reputation as the protector of children.
The cult of the devil and Saint Nicholas is more clearly defined in Germanic folklore. In Austria, Bavaria and Tyrol, the saint is accompanied by Krampus, a demonic figure. Krampus punishes children by taking them to his lair.

Malgré le recomptage validé du premier tour de l’élection présidentielle roumaine, le régime de Bruxelles vient d’obtenir son annulation.
La Cour constitutionnelle roumaine a annoncé vendredi dans un communiqué l’annulation de l’élection présidentielle, dont le deuxième tour était prévu dimanche sur fond de suspicion d’ingérence russe.
La cour «annule la totalité du processus pour élire le président roumain» pour «s’assurer de la validité et de la légalité» du scrutin et demande à ce que «l’intégralité du processus électoral» recommence. Au premier tour, le candidat nationaliste Calin Georgescu était arrivé en tête à la surprise générale.

Instanța „anulează întregul proces de alegere a președintelui României” pentru „a asigura valabilitatea și legalitatea” votului și cere ca „întregul proces electoral” să se reia. În primul tur, candidatul naționalist Călin Georgescu a venit primul spre surprinderea tuturor.

L’histoire sans fin Synopsis:
Bastian Bux, dix ans, est un paria timide qui vit avec son père récemment veuf. Sa curiosité piquée, Bastian prend secrètement le livre intitulé L’histoire sans fin, laissant une note promettant de le rendre. Arrivé en retard à l’école, Bastian se cache dans le grenier de l’immeuble pour lire.
Le livre décrit le monde fantastique de Fantasia lentement dévoré par une force malveillante appelée « Le Néant ». L’Impératrice enfantine, qui dirige Fantasia, est tombée malade et le jeune guerrier Atreyu est chargé de découvrir un remède, croyant qu’une fois l’Impératrice guérie, le Néant ne sera plus une menace. Atreyu reçoit un médaillon appelé AURYN qui peut le guider et le protéger dans sa quête. Alors qu’Atreyu part, le Néant invoque une créature vicieuse et très intelligente ressemblant à un loup nommée Gmork et l’envoie tuer Atreyu.

The Neverending Story Synopsis:
Ten-year-old Bastian Bux is a shy outcast who lives with his recently widowed father. One morning, Bastian’s father tells his son of his concern after hearing he drew unicorns in his math book and tells Bastian he needs to stop fantasizing and start facing reality. On his way to school, Bastian is chased by bullies but escapes by hiding in a bookstore, annoying the bookseller, Mr. Coreander. Bastian’s interest in books leads him to ask about the one Coreander is reading, but the bookseller advises against reading it, saying that it is not a « safe » story like regular books. With his curiosity piqued, Bastian secretly takes the book, titled The Neverending Story, leaving a note promising to return it. Arriving at school late, Bastian hides in the building’s attic to read.
The book describes the fantasy world of Fantasia slowly being devoured by a malevolent force called « The Nothing ». The Childlike Empress, who rules Fantasia, has fallen ill, and the young warrior Atreyu is tasked to discover a cure, believing that once the Empress is well, the Nothing will no longer be a threat. Atreyu is given a medallion called the AURYN that can guide and protect him in the quest. As Atreyu sets out, the Nothing summons a vicious and highly intelligent wolf-like creature named Gmork and sends him to kill Atreyu.
