Avril 1985, à 50 000 pieds au-dessus de la mer d’Irlande, c’est la seule photo jamais prise d’un Concorde volant au-dessus de Mach 2.
La photo elle-même a été prise par Adrian Meredith, un photographe britannique renommé, depuis un Panavia Tornado, un chasseur de la Royal Air Force britannique. .
Meredith devait être rapide et précis, car en volant aussi haut, il avait moins de 4 minutes pour prendre la photo. Après cela, le chasseur n’a pas pu suivre le Concorde.
